Today
Each morning a prompt is waiting. Shuffle it if it does not fit. Write one sentence or a longer page. Mark a mood. Catch up on a missed day from the last week without turning Today into a calendar.
A private journal for iPhone and iPad
A prompt is waiting. You can shuffle it, mark a mood, and look back later. The writing never leaves this device.
Each morning a prompt is waiting. Shuffle it if it does not fit. Write one sentence or a longer page. Mark a mood. Catch up on a missed day from the last week without turning Today into a calendar.
Every filled day becomes a page you can search, star, edit, or delete. The archive stays on the device you wrote it on.
See your streak, the month’s days and words, and a calendar week of writing. Leave one sentence for the week when you want the days to gather.
EmberNote does not create an account, does not sync to a server we run, and does not publish your pages. Optional evening reminders are local notifications on the same iPhone or iPad. Export is something you start, if you want a text file of your writing.
Effective September 16, 2026
This User Agreement (“Agreement”) is a contract between you and iOS5 Studio (“we”, “us”) for your use of the EmberNote application for iOS and iPadOS (“EmberNote” or the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using EmberNote, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
EmberNote is a personal journal. It is intended to help you leave a short, honest note each day, with optional prompts, moods, reminders, an archive, and a weekly recap. It is a lifestyle product, not a medical, therapeutic, or professional service.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use EmberNote on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and this Agreement. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, rent, or redistribute the App except as allowed by law or by Apple’s terms.
You retain whatever rights you have in the text and other content you enter into EmberNote (“Your Writing”). You are responsible for Your Writing. Do not use the App to store content you do not have the right to keep, or that is unlawful. Because EmberNote stores Your Writing on your device, you are also responsible for keeping that device secure and for making any copies you want (including using the export feature).
You agree to use EmberNote only for lawful personal journaling. You may not misuse the App, attempt to disrupt it, or use it in a way that could harm a child or another person. EmberNote is not a communications network and is not a place to send messages to us or to others.
If you download EmberNote from the App Store, Apple’s terms also apply. Apple is not a party to this Agreement and is not responsible for EmberNote or its content. In the event of a conflict between this Agreement and Apple’s terms regarding your relationship with Apple, Apple’s terms control that relationship.
EmberNote is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss. Journal entries live on your device; a lost, reset, or damaged device can mean lost writing unless you have exported it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, iOS5 Studio and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of writing, data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of EmberNote. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for EmberNote in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars if you paid nothing, whichever is greater. Some places do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.
We may update EmberNote or this Agreement. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Agreement, which will be posted in the App or on this page with a new effective date. You may stop using EmberNote at any time by deleting the App. We may stop offering the App.
Questions about this Agreement can be sent through the App Store product page for EmberNote, or to iOS5 Studio at the support channel listed with the App.

This Privacy Policy describes how EmberNote handles information. The short version: EmberNote is built so that your journal stays on your iPhone or iPad. We do not run a cloud account for your pages, and we do not sell your writing.
EmberNote does not require an account. We do not operate a server that receives your journal entries, moods, prompts, or weekly recap sentences. We do not use your writing for advertising. We do not sell personal information.
When you write in EmberNote, the App stores that content locally using Apple’s on-device storage (including SwiftData / the device filesystem). This can include:
This information is not transmitted to iOS5 Studio in the ordinary use of the App. If you back up your device with Apple (for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup), Apple’s backup may include App data according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policy. We do not control Apple’s backups.
If you turn on the evening writing reminder, EmberNote schedules a local notification on that device. The reminder is not sent through our servers. You can turn it off in EmberNote Settings or in iOS Settings. We only receive a system yes/no for notification permission on the device itself; we do not receive a copy of the notification on a server.
If you use Export text, EmberNote writes a file on the device and hands it to the system share sheet. Where that file goes next (Mail, Files, another app) is your choice and is governed by that destination’s terms. We do not receive the export.
If you obtain EmberNote from Apple, Apple may process purchase, download, and device information under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We receive only the limited reports Apple provides to developers, which do not include the contents of your journal.
EmberNote is a general-audience journal. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because journal data is stored on the device, a parent or guardian who controls the device controls that data.
Your writing remains on the device until you delete a page, use Delete all pages, delete the App, or erase the device. Deleting the App removes locally stored EmberNote data on that device, except copies you have exported or that exist in a device backup you keep.
If our practices change (for example if a future version introduces optional sync), we will update this Privacy Policy and the effective date. Material changes that expand what leaves your device will be reflected in the App and on this page before those features apply.
Privacy questions can be sent through the App Store product page for EmberNote, or to iOS5 Studio at the support channel listed with the App.
